Personal Details

  • About Me Hi, I have been interested in 3D from an early age starting with Viewmasters and seeing my first Hologram at the Museum of Science and Industry. I even had a collection of a Stereoscope and Slides from the 1800's. My interest was accelerated in the late 80's when I became a mechanical engineer and started using CAD, 3D Design and researching Rapid prototyping of the era. I also had one of the first publicly available VR Headsets or a head anchor. LOL

My interests has also included 3d Glasses, creating anaglyphs, merging computer generated images and 3D characters with actual real video. They call it Augmented reality or Mixed Reality now. I left the Engineering world in the late 90's to transition to Internet Development.
Even when doing web development, some of my first logos were done in 3D Studio Max, I created some silly web pages to be viewed with 3D Glasses. The old Red/Blue and even played around with old VRML as well as created a version of Tic Tac Toe that could be played using the 3D Red Blue Glasses. Programming wise, the game is actually of interest because it allowed 2 internet users to play each other via a web browser without any plugins and then defaults to playing the computer after 5 seconds if no other user joins.
I built it because supposedly it couldn't be done.
(the communication between 2 different users just through a web browser)

I am very happy to see the abundance of 3D Creation software and inexpensive 3D Printers that have hit the market in the past several years making it possible for more people to be engaged in 3D.

I have always been looking for a way to merge my Web experience with my Engineering experience as well as my interest in 3D and that is how The3DSite.com was born.
